Employability and careers services

Careers services for schools

We have been delivering high quality careers services for schools, colleges and other organisations for more than 20 years. Through our evidence-informed practice we help to bridge the gap between education, training and the world of work for young people in London, the south east, the south west as well as the north east, Cumbria, Yorkshire and the Humber.

We know how important it is that young people receive expert, informed advice and guidance as they make the critical transition from school to further learning and employment and we know what works in delivering this. Our 'Inspiring careers' team works with local authorities or directly with schools, to not only deliver careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) to young people but also support with work experience placements, careers education activities, tracking and data reporting services. Our programmes are bespoke-designed to help schools and colleges meet their statutory responsibility for careers and to achieve the benchmarks established as guidance by the Gatsby Foundation. In the past year, we have supported more than 11,000 students through our careers activities with 99.4% of students feeling clearer after working with our careers advisers. Partnership working – with schools, young people and parents, training providers, employers, colleges and universities and other stakeholders – is central to the success of all of our programmes.

Accredited career guidance qualifications

We are an approved OCR centre for careers guidance qualifications. Our specialist training programmes, delivered by dedicated and experienced advice and guidance professionals, upskill and empower candidates. We offer a comprehensive suite of qualifications that allows candidates to design a training programme carefully tailored to meet their needs and setting.

Apprenticeship guidance and support

As part of our increasing portfolio of careers information, advice and guidance contracts, we deliver the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge programme (ASK) in London on behalf of the National Apprenticeship Service. The programme annually reaches over 200,000 students nationally and is designed to give schools, colleges and other educational establishments across England fully funded support to develop and transform how students think about apprenticeships.

The programme assists schools with their statutory duty to provide impartial careers advice and guidance to young people by providing them with a bespoke package of comprehensive information about apprenticeships.

London Careers Clusters

From 1 May 2020 we started delivering the London Careers Clusters, The Mayor’s European Social Fund (ESF) 2019-23 Programme that builds upon existing Careers Clusters across London, enhancing activity currently undertaken within schools and colleges. It will help facilitate sustainable relationships between local schools, colleges, employers and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to support the work readiness of student groups, in particular those with higher levels of need.
